Draft bill to make company prosecutions easier

A draft Bill will propose making it easier to prosecute companies and other bodies for failings which lead to a death.

But the legislation will be drafted so individual directors or company officers will not be liable to prosecution – unless a case could be brought under existing law. The bill was announced during the Queen’s speech in parliament today (Tuesday).
