UK businesses are failing to place enough emphasis on security, according to a specialist who has issued a warning following several hackings this year which have hit high profile organisations such as Lloyd's of London and Visa.
Software security specialist ClickNet European vice president said: ‘Businesses seems to be reliant on one, or sometimes two basic tools, which have been implemented as an overall policy. The reality is that firewalls do not stop hackers.’
He advised companies to install intrusion prevention software, which stops access to critical corporate resources before any unauthorised transactions can occur.
