Budget 2003: Housing, manufacturing to grow
The chancellor of the exchequer has declared he expects the economy to continue growing this year.

In his Budget speech today, Gordon brown said business investment is expected to grow, as well as manufacturing investment and output. He said the housing market domestically was expected to increase by 3%.
‘We expect British growth overall to rise by 3.5%,’ he said, adding that private consumption was also expected to grow this year, as the typical British household saw a growth in income of 3.5% last year.
