Reorganisation of PricewaterhouseCoopers' Midlands presence will see three offices close
PricewaterhouseCoopers is to shut three of its offices in the East Midlands and open a new single location in what the firm describes as a reorganisation of its presence in the region. It is unclear how many jobs will be affected by the move.
The firm had served the region from offices in Nottingham, Derby and Leicester. However, the lease on its Derby office expired recently and for the short-term Derby employees have been transferred to Nottingham.
PwC’s Leicester office is continuing to operate as usual in the immediate term – however a final location of the combined office has yet to be confirmed.
It is understood PwC is reviewing geographical options and will make an announcement in the near future, while the move into the new premises is expected to be finalised by autumn next year.
Brian Woods-Scawen, chairman of PricewaterhouseCoopers in the Midlands, said: ‘Markets are changing rapidly, on a local, national and global level.
This is bringing new challenges for businesses in the region, challenges that require specialist knowledge, which can only be delivered to our clients by concentrating our specialist resources so that they can better serve the East Midlands as a whole.’
