ICAEW reveals results of 'historic' exams

Examinations sat in China for the first time

The ICAEW has released the results of
its December 2006 exams sat by over 5,500 students, its largest sitting for 25
years.

Students completed a total of six papers at the Professional Stage of the
ACA qualification.


The Accountancy paper pass rate was the highest since the new style Professional
Stage was introduced in 2001, the institute revealed in a statement.

For the first time ACA students sat examinations in China in three locations:
Guangzhou, Shanghai and Beijing and in Moscow for the second time.

The pass results for the December 2006 sitting are: Accounting (97.2%),
Taxation (78.9%), Business Finance (87.6%), Business Management (80.9%), Audit
& Assurance (83.7%), and Financial Reporting (80.5%).
