The majority of finance directors believe that Tory economic policies under opposition leader Michael Howard present a credible threat to Tony Blair’s Labour
More than half (52%) of respondents to the latest Accountancy Age/Reed Accountancy Big Question believe that the Conservatives are a threat to Labour, with just 29% disagreeing.
‘Enough of the population are aware of chancellor Gordon Brown’s repeated and significant tax increases combined with Labour’s failure to deliver improvement in the key areas of health, education and crime,’ said one FD. The crushing news comes less than a week before the chancellor delivers his much-anticipated pre-Budget report to the House of Commons.
