British Airways FD to work at Heathrow
John Rishton, the finance director of crisis-hit British Airways, will help at checkout at Heathrow Airport over the Bank holiday weekend alongside his other boardroom colleagues.
Rishton will join Rod Eddington, chief executive, and the airline’s operations manager, Mike Street, to help to relieve the staff shortages and other problems which have crippled its operations at Heathrow this week, The Guardian reported.
A total of 95 flights from Heathrow have been cancelled this week.
BA will be boosted by the news that a planned strike by 600 United Airlines staff at Heathrow over the bank holiday weekend has been called off by the Transport & General Workers’ Union following an improved pay offer by the carrier.
