KPMG Ireland job cuts include directors

Public statement focussed on support staff and junior accountants

Seventy-five of the 200 staff to be shed from KPMG’s Ireland practice are
managers and directors, the Irish Independent has reported.

A detailed breakdown provided to staff showed that 40 senior staff would be
culled from the tax division , 20 from advisory, 10 from audit and five from
support services.

Newly qualified accountants will account for 85 of the sackings. Support and
secretarial workers comprise the remaining 45.

When KPMG announced the cuts on Wednesday, its statement said the
redundancies would mainly affect support staff and recently-qualified
accountants.
