ACCA students becoming 'web-savvy'
The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants claims as many as 90% of its students used e-mail or the internet to retrieve their December 2000 exam results.
The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants claims as many as 90% of its students used e-mail or the internet to retrieve their December 2000 exam results.
Almost 30,000 ACCA students from around the world requested to have their December 2000 exam results e-mailed to them, representing 40% of all candidates, while a further 40,0000 used ACCA’s official website – www.accaglobal.com – to see how they faired.
ACCA IT and finance director Ross Midgley expressed delight at the level of response of students:
‘The combination of e-mail send-outs and web site hits suggests that up to 90% cent of our exam candidates now receive their results electronically.’
Midgley added: ‘It also suggests something of a culture change. The anxious student waiting for the critical letter to drop on to the mat has been replaced by the web-savvy student receiving results instantly.’
