Abbey National to book share options
Abbey National is today reported to be considering booking share options as expenses following the lead of competitor HSBC.

The bank has reportedly asserted that the change in accounting procedure would make no material difference to its financial situation.
HSBC is one of only two FTSE 100 companies – the other being Boots – to switch to treating share options given to directors and employees as an expense rather than just putting a footnote in the company annual report.
