Optimism and deal-making at Softworld

An atmosphere of optimism and hard deal-making permeated London's Softworld Accounting and Finance 2004 show, with international accounting standards the talk on most vendors and delegates' lips.

Exhibitors were generally upbeat about the amount of sales orders taken for their software, while customers were focused on reviewing a select number of potential accounting and business process products and then making a selection.

In fact most of the exhibitors’ salespeople were busy extolling the virtues of their software long after the four o’clock close on the show’s last day.

Expectations have been raised that the Autumn Softworld show, held in Birmingham, will also be another lively affair, especially as the deadline for IAS will then be just a few months away.
