FD of Irish building materials group gets the nod for the chief exec spot which comes up for grabs at the end of the year
CRH plc, a major building materials group is to hand its finance director
executive control of the company.
Myles Lee was crowned group chief executive in waiting this week. Lee will
succeed the current chief exec Liam O’Mahony, when he retires as previously
announced at the end of 2008. Lee, a civil engineer and accountant joined CRH in
1982.
He was appointed general manager for finance in 1988 and became FD in
November 2003, at which time he joined the CRH board.

headquartered in Ireland, has operations in 32 countries employing
approximately 92,000 people at over 3,500 locations.
The company which is listed on the London and Irish stock exchanges has a
market capital of €12.9bn. CRH added that Albert Manifold would become chief
operating officer designate. Manifold is also a trained accountant and joined
CRH in 1998.He will take up this role and join the CRH Board in January 2009.
