Kidsons builds on financial profile with City experience
Kidsons Impey has signalled a clear intention to boost its corporate finance strength by making a string of senior appointments.
Graham Spooner has joined from 3i as the firm’s first national director of corporate finance to develop a clear sector identity for Kidsons. Jeremy Harris has been poached from Chantrey Vellacott to head the London department after building up a strong four-partner team at Chantreys since his appointment there six years ago.
Other recent appointments include John Armstrong, to cover the North West, and Douglas McGhee in Scotland.
Spooner, who also has experience with City stockbrokers Olliff & Partners, said: ‘It’s fair to say that corporate finance in the past has been carried out by various general practitioners within the firm. We are now developing the business nationally through regional centres.’
Spooner explained that Kidsons will target the owner-managed sector for business.
Harris added: ‘I could not resist the challenge of building a City profile for a leading firm like Kidsons Impey. Despite our substantial client base and our proximity to the City, we have not fully exploited the opportunities offered by the City and I welcome the chance to do so.’
