PBR 06: Brown to bring in billions on tax avoidance crackdown

Composite companies to be hit in tax avoidance crackdown

Measures to hit tax avoidance will bring in billions of pounds for the
government, according to pre-Budget report statistics.

Hitting composite companies, corporates, stamp duty land tax and capital
gains tax avoidance will help the government bring in over £6bn in revenues up
to 2009/2010.

New measure to hit composites will recoup a billion pounds over the next
three years.

Countering corporation tax avoidance will recoup nearly a billion pounds by
2010.

Increasing air passenger duty rates will bring in over £3bn.
