CFO appointed at British Airways
British Airways has appointed John Rishton as chief financial officer, replacing its current head of finance, Derek Stevens, who retires this autumn.
The CIMA-qualified accountant, who will take up his position on 1 September, is also to take a seat on the airline’s board. He currently holds the position of financial controller and sits on various finance committees within the company.
Rod Eddington, chief executive of British Airways, said: ‘John has a broad, deep understanding of British Airways and the challenges we face. He has the character, knowledge and expertise necessary to play a vital role in our continuing recovery.’
Rishton joined BA in 1994 after 15 years in various finance roles at Ford.
