Cognos has NovaView
Business intelligence specialist Cognos has a new product called NovaView. It was developed with the help of Israeli software house Panorama, which wrote the new OLAP Services module that comes with Microsoft SQL Server.The program presents the user with a ready-configured menu of management reports, with a linked spreadsheet/chart tool that can be used to analyse different ‘cuts’ of the data. The configurable administrator’s module costs #699 and client licences are available at an introductory price of #149.
UK GAAP on CD-ROMErnst & Young is bringing its reference epic, UK GAAP, into the digital age. The 1,800-page tome has been digitised onto a #195 CD-ROM called UK GAAPplus, which includes UITF abstracts, exposure drafts of accountancy standards and digitised copies of listed company accounts. Ernst & Young’s own model set of accounts can be cut and pasted into a spreadsheet or word processor.
