Henderson will retire in March 2005 as head of the UK business of Aegon, the Dutch insurer that owns Scottish Equitable. He will be replaced by Otto Thoresen, Aegon UK’s finance director.
Henderson joined Scottish Equitable in 1971 as chief accountant. He was later appointed chief executive of Scottish Equitable in 1997. When Aegon UK was formed in 1999, he was made Aegon UK chief executive and chairman of Scottish Equitable.
