The year may have turned, but KPMG Consulting’s 1998 Directory of Business and Financial Software is now available. The information on functionality provided by over 200 vendors confirms smaller ‘best-of-breed’ packages are being squeezed by all-in-one software.

Manugistics up for grabs According to AMR Research, supply chain vendor Manugistics has approached i2 Technologies, Oracle, SAP and JD Edwards, about a possible takeover. PeopleSoft was not interested, having acquired Atlanta-based supply chain software specialist Distinction Software in December. Manugistics sources suggest Oracle and i2 are the most likely buyers.

Interactive euro guide Dutch accountancy software house Exact has created an interactive guide to the euro. Called Euro Manager, the program can be obtained free from Exact’s UK headquarters in Staines, or accessed on the Web at www.exactinternational.com.
