PCAOB set to extend registration deadline

The US Public Company Accounting Oversight Board is tomorrow likely to confirm that it will extend the deadline for non-US audit firms to register with the board for another three months.

Tuesday’s meeting will see board members vote on its proposals to extend the registration deadline to 19 July as it continues to consider its rules for the oversight of non-US firms. The current deadline for registration is 19 April.

The PCAOB has yet to set a date for a meeting to discuss the other proposals for non-US oversight, which would see the introduction of a sliding-scale of reliance on a home nation’s oversight system.
