KPMG grabs Andersen's North West offices

The Pacific North West division of Andersen has fallen to KPMG in what has rapidly become open warfare between the new Big Four over the carcass of the rapidly disintegrating firm.

The deal, which will cover the Andersen offices in Seattle, Portland, Boise, Salt Lake City, San Francisco and Los Angeles, was agreed not long after Deloitte & Touche picked up Andersen’s tax practice.

Around 440 Andersen partners and staff are believed to be moving over to KPMG, while a separate deal for the Boston office is also under negotiations.

Negotiations between Andersen and KPMG in the UK, France, Germany and Netherlands were said to be still ‘constructive’.
