Former 3i CFO Michael Queen to take over from Philip Yea as the group's chief executive
3i has appointed its former FD Michael Queen as its new group chief
executive.
Queen, who served in the top finance role at the listed investment business
between 1997 and 2005, takes over from Philip Yea.
Most recently Queen has held the role of managing partner of 3i’s
infrastructure business.
Yea also has senior finance experience, having spent six years as group FD at
both Guiness and Diageo. He is CIMA-qualified.
‘Philip Yea has led significant change at 3i, developing the business model,
growing assets under management and internationalising the business,’ said
chairman Baroness Hogg.
‘But after nearly five years running the business, Phil is stepping down to
assist the transition to the next generation of leadership. The board would like
to thank Phil for his great contribution.’
‘These are tough markets and the macro economic environment is clearly
challenging but 3i is an outstanding business with the brand, people and the
financial strength to weather current difficulties and strengthen its position
in the market, globally,’ said Queen.
