Goyanes has joined the company as it prepares to enter the clean energy solutions market. This new direction for the company sees several new board appointments, including new chief executive David Weaver and former National Grid FD John Uttley as audit committee chairman.
The company also proposes to change its name ‘in due course’ to reflect its new business focus.
‘Over the last six months the board has been reviewing the options available to the company,’ said chairman Bijan Khezri.
‘Having examined these options, we are excited to present a credible plan focused on delivering clean energy solutions to business. We believe this strategy provides optimal leverage of Baltimore’s structure and asset base and should deliver sustained and profitable growth for shareholders.’
Goyanes is the former head of European utilities research at Lazard, and has held several positions in both management and as adviser on market strategy for investment banks and broking firms.
Baltimore’s current CFO, Denis Kelly, will step down at its AGM.
