KPMG has crowned Oliver Tant as its UK Head of Audit.
He takes over from Richard Bennison, who recently became chief operating
officer of KPMG Europe.
Tant said: ‘I’m proud to be leading a team of such talented and high-quality
people whose professionalism is second to none.
‘Auditors have always played a vital role in the effective functioning of
capital markets – perhaps now more than ever, given the current challenging
environment– and I am sure our people will have a very important part to play in
restoring confidence in the capital markets during these unprecedented times.’
Tant also joins KPMG’s European Audit Leadership team, the Global Audit
Steering Group and the UK operating team as part of his new role, the firm
added.
Tant joined the audit practice of Thomson McLintock in 1982. For the past
three years, he has been Global Head of Private Equity, as well as being a lead
Partner for the sector within the UK practice.
Some of his previous clients have included Alchemy, Charterhouse, Compass,
Otto Versand, Granada and TUI Travel.
John Griffith-Jones, co-chairman of KPMG Europe, said: ‘Audit is a hugely
important part of our business and Oliver brings a wealth of experience to the
role.’
