BDO's managing partner in waiting announces the firm's new top brass as he prepares to take over from Jeremy Newman

Simon Michaels has revealed the new board of BDO Stoy Hayward in one of his
first major moves as the firm’s managing partner designate.

From 5 July, Carl Williams becomes Chief Operating Officer. Sophie Hill takes
over as head of South. Tony Perkins will lead BDO’s Audit division and Gervase
MacGregor will spearhead the Advisory arm. Paul Eagland becomes head of Tax as
David Anderson heads up the firm’s People arm. Dermot Matthias will stay on as
Senior Partner.

Michaels said: ‘The new leadership team brings together experienced people
from streams, geographical regions and key markets. The expansion of our
leadership team recognises the scale of our business now and will enable all
members of the team to retain client responsibilities, reinforcing that clients
are core to this business at all levels.’

Michaels takes over from Jeremy Newman next month.

‘I look forward to working with the team and the wider business in one of the
most progressive accountancy firms in the market building on the success we have
achieved to date,’ he added.
