3i appoints deputy finance director

FTSE100 private equity giant unveils its deputy FD

Julia Wilson has joined private equity giant and FTSE100 company 3i in the
new role of deputy finance director.

Wilson, 38, will be responsible for the finance, taxation and treasury
functions at the business. She was previously at telecoms company Cable &
Wireless, which she joined in 2000. She had been group director of corporate
finance there since December 2003.

Wilson began her career in 1990 in the tax practice of Arthur Andersen,
before moving into industry with roles at Hanson and Tomkins.

Simon Ball, 3i group finance director said: ‘She [Wilson] has an excellent
track record in international business and is a strong addition to the senior
management team.’

Wilson said she was ‘delighted’ to be joining 3i. ‘It’s a business with a
great reputation and a considerable market opportunity’, she added.
