Taking Stock - Have I got really old news for you.

There’s nothing like a bit of timeliness and unfortunately recent comments from the Chartered Institute of Taxation have arrived with nothing remotely like timeliness. Back in early November the world was driven into a frothy-mouthed frenzy analysing the pre-Budget report. This August publication was inundated with views from firms, institutions and anyone vaguely connected with finance minutes after the chancellor had sat down. But the CIoT appears to be on some other timescale because it has only this week provided TS with its considered opinion on the report. There’s nothing like being on top of the news and this is nothing like being on top of the news.
