Peoplesoft to create European jobs

ERP giant PeopleSoft today announced plans to recruit up to 1400 employees across Europe, due to demand for ebusiness solutions.

Company officials said the recruitment drive was necessary due to expansion plans. The company already employs 7,000 staff in 90 countries – however it is unclear how many of the jobs will be created in the UK.

Expansion plans include increased investment in its solutions following its recent acquisition of management solutions provider Vantive, and an increase in demand for its internet-based solutions.

Frans Van Buuren, Peoplesoft director of human resources, international operations, said: ‘In Europe, we are experiencing a successful 2000, which goes against current industry trends.
