Mid-range vendor Exchequer’s new Sentimail service allows users of its Enterprise accounting package to receive ‘proactive business alerts’ through their mobile phones.
The tool, demonstrated to Accountancy Age at Softworld 2001, allows users to set up ‘sentinels’ to look for events such as when a sale over a certain value is inputted into the enterprise system.
Once this occurs, an SMS is instantly sent to an account manager’s mobile informing him of the sale, or to anyone else set up on the alert list.
The tool can be integrated with Microsoft Outlook, so that the alert can also be sent to a list of email contacts.
