PwC's Schiro moves to Zurich

Jim Schiro, outgoing chief executive of PricewaterhouseCoopers, has been appointed as chief operating officer at Zurich Financial Services.

Schiro’s appointment at the besieged Swiss insurer follows the departure of two of its most senior executives.

He will be responsible for the management all of Zurich’s finance functions.

Schiro, who oversaw the 1998 merger of Coopers & Lybrand with Price Waterhouse, announced his intention to leave the firm earlier than expected at a meeting of senior partners in Paris in October.p>Links
