NTL-Virgin abandons plans for LSE float as a result of colossal tax charge, paper reports

NTL-Virgin is reported to have scrapped an LSE listing for tax reasons.

City AM reports this morning that the group, which would certainly
have joined the FTSE-100 on listing, has been put off by the one-off tax charge
that would result from a change of domicile.

The charge would have run into ‘hundreds of millions of dollars,’ the paper
said.
