Dome man reports on Wembley
David James, the high-profile company doctor and accountant, has emerged from the Dome to add fuel to the Wembley national stadium debate.
The hard working troubleshooter, who was drafted in to sort out the Dome’s finances, has just delivered a report on the procurement process for the new national stadium.
Commissioned by Wembley National Stadium to review the bidding process, the report was handed over to culture secretary Tessa Jowell on Tuesday.
Jowell told MPs yesterday the report raised worries about ‘a lack of transparency… and a failure to deal properly with actual or potential conflicts of interest.’
The news came as James, who has just handed over the New Millennium Experience Company to liquidators KPMG after giving back pounds 25m to the Millennium Commission, continued to work with WestLB on its bid for Railtrack.
