Zurich Financial Services CFO joins Ernst & Young

Summersgill is expected to be instrumental in developing the team’s strategic restructuring proposition

Zurich Financial Services CFO has joined Ernst & Young as director of a
recently created insurance run-off team.

Mick Summersgill steps into the role following his time at Zurich where he
was CFO of discontinued operations in the UK.

Summersgill is expected to be instrumental in developing the team’s strategic
restructuring proposition as well as driving forward delivery of restructuring
and exit solutions for legacy insurance business.

He brings his experience of assisting the CEO of discontinued operations in
managing the run-off portfolios of both Zurich Specialities London Limited and
Eagle Star Insurance Company Limited and its subsidiaries, which represent one
of the largest run-off portfolios currently under management in the UK
(re)insurance market.

He is also a fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants,
qualified in insolvency and has previously worked in the insurance solutions
team at KPMG.

E&Y lead partner in the insurance run-off team Kevin Gill, said: ‘Mick
joins the team at such an important point in its development. His experience
across industry and in practice is invaluable to us and our clients. I’m really
