KPMG under spotlight over work permits

Big Four firm KPMG is under investigation by the
Department of Employment and Workplace
Relations over the use of work permits, the
Belfast Telegraph
reported.
According to reports, the investigation follows embassy officials in New Delhi
examining work permits last
month awarded to two accountants from India.
The Telegraph said it understood there were concerns that the firm
had been paying the accountants less than the amount stated on their permits.
Inspectors met with KPMG yesterday to look at their procedures in relation to
the use of permits and is believed to be co-operating with the investigation
