Global board members at crisis-stricken Andersen, may announce an interim CEO to succeed Joe Berardino today after the firm confirmed they are meeting in London to discuss the matter.
The meeting of 18 managing partners, revealed by AccountancyAge.com last week, is expected to take place throughout the day, with the firm looking to make an appointment as soon as possible.
A spokesman for Andersen, said: ‘The Andersen Worldwide board members are meeting today. It is a regular meeting however and has not been set up especially to talk about an interim appointment – but it would be weird if they weren’t to discuss the matter.’
Berardino quit as chief executive a week ago after 14 months in the role. Lou Salvatore and Paul Volcker have been tipped as potential candidates for the interim position.
