PBR03: Help for amateur sports club
Following on from the success of the Rugby World Cup, Gordon Brown has announced a number of tax concessions for amateur sports clubs.
Brown said the 100,000 clubs in the UK would get 80% rates relief, which would mean savings of between £1,000 to £3,000.
He also said the government would double the threshold for corporation tax to £50,000.
The chancellor also called on the whole house to congratulate the success of the national rugby side.
