Deloitte looks to rescue Pimpernel

Tableware company enters into administration

Deloitte’s Ian Brown and John Reid of Deloitte have been appointed
administrators of Pimpernel International Limited, a County Durham-based
tableware company.

Pimpernel has met with cashflow difficulties following the re-sourcing of
production to China.

The administrators have announced 69 redundancies, but are looking to sell
the rest of the business as a going concern, with 31 staff still employed at the
company.

Pimpernel’s US subsidiary and a joint venture operation in Thailand are not
in any insolvency procedures.
