Chancellor Alistair Darling said he will pump more funds into supporting
troops in combat zones and when they return home.
Darling announced £2.5bn to support military operations along with £5m set
aside to help returned soldiers set up businesses.
“The next year a further £2.5bn pounds will be set aside for military
operations in Afghanistan,” he said.
