The Accountants’ Joint Disciplinary Scheme has published its annual report and accounts. The body, which provides independent investigation of the work and behaviour of UK chartered accountants, has undertaken investigations into the role of accountants in major corporate scandals such as BCCI. The JDS, currently funded by the English and Scots institutes, is to be replaced by the Investigation and Disciplinary Board under the aegis of the Foundation, the new independent regulatory body.
