International tax chief poached from Grant Thornton

Big Four firm lures Craig McAree away from rival Grant Thornton

Ernst & Young
has lured Craig McAree, UK and European head of international tax at Grant
Thornton, into its fold where he will take responsibility for E&Y’s
mid-market international tax and transfer pricing practice.

Grant Thornton, however, has
wasted no time in appointing a candidate to take over from McAree, who will be
replaced by Joy Svasti-Salee.

Svasti-Salee backed up McAree prior to his departure as technical head of
international tax and extensive experience in the field. She was head of
international tax at KPMG, where she was also a partner for more than a decade,
before joining Grant Thornton.
