Synett, 53, replaces Martin Eberhardt, a former senior manager at KPMG, who will step down next month.
Telecommunications Group operates a fixed telephone network in the Netherlands and Belgium and a mobile phone distribution and wholesale business in the UK. In September it reversed into Roxspur, a cash shell.
Speaking on his appointment Synett said the next step would be the ‘consolidation and integration’ of these three businesses.
Numerica was the subject of two failed takeover bids last year, first with BDO Stoy Hayward and then with Robson Rhodes.
