Whitbread FD Christopher Rogers will be joining the board of HMV Group in a
non-executive capacity as of 1 October.
He will also chair HMV Group’s Audit Committee, and takes a seat on the
Nomination and Remuneration Committees.
Prior to joining Whitbread in May 2005, Rogers, 46, was group finance
director of Woolworths Group and chairman of Woolworths Group Entertainment and
Wholesale Publishing businesses.
He qualified as an accountant with PWC and joined Kingfisher Group as
corporate finance manager in 1988.

In March 2005, Rogers stepped down from the board of Woolworth Group before
its struggling home entertainment arm MVC Entertainment was liquidated, but the
chair of HMV believed he would be a significant addition to the board.
Carl Symon, chairman of HMV Group, said: ‘I am delighted that Chris will be
