Andreasen, who was the Accountancy Age Personality of the Year in 2003, is reported to be preparing to take part in the press conference on Thursday alongside UK Independence Party MEP Ashley Mote.

At the weekend The Sunday Telegraph reported that Andreasen has amassed a store of more than 100 sensitive EU documents which she has not yet decided how to use.

She told the paper that she believes the papers will bolster her argument that the European Commission has failed to set up sufficient safeguards for the EU’s £62bn budget.
