Tories call for Sport England to audit funding
Conservatives want body to control finances and encourage sport participation
Sport England should act as the ‘bank and auditor’ of sport funding in order
to encourage mass participation in sports the Tories have said.
In a comment piece in the Daily Telegraph shadow sport and Olympics
minister Hugh Robertson said: ‘We need to use this restored lottery funding to
target mass participation sport.
‘This funding should be guaranteed for four or five years, with Sport England
acting as the bank and auditor.’
