Simon Melliss is to take over as chairman of the Audit
Committee on May 1.
Melliss trained as an accountant and has held several financial roles at Reed
Internatinal and Sketchley before joining Hammerson in 1991. Later in 1995,
he was the first to be appointed group finance director.
Whitbread’s chairman, Anthony Habgood said he was ‘delighted with Melliss
joining the board.
‘His financial experience and knowledge of the property sector will be of
great benefit to Whitbread,’ said Habgood.
