Free email PAYE advice bulletin launched

The firm has launched what could be the UK’s first free regular emailed tax advice bulletin for employers.

Accessible only by email and updated every 14 days, the new scheme – called Employer Tax Update – is available free to any employer in the UK.

The first bulletins cover Budget changes in the regulations applying to company cars and National Insurance contributions.

Tax partner Ray Chidell, who conceived and developed the idea, will run the service from the firm’s Brighton office.

He said: ‘Company cars, which we tackle in the first bulletin, are a big issue. In April 2002 high-mileage business drivers could see their tax doubling – or worse. So employers should be aware that company cars bought now will have a major effect on tax liability in two years time.’

Issues including employee share schemes, staff entertaining and accommodation will be dealt with in later bulletins.
