E&Y saves nearly 1,000 jobs at hotel chain
13 hotels sold by administrator
Ernst & Young, administrators of the
Swallow Hotels and London and
Edinburgh Inns, has saved 977 jobs after 13 hotels were sold to REIT Asset
Management.
Roy Bailey, one of the joint administrators at
E
&Y, said: ‘We are delighted to have been successful in selling a further
thirteen properties and securing jobs of employees at these sites.’
The administrators have been forced to sell more than thirty hotels and pubs
since being appointed administrators in September.
The hotels sold are: Dundee Hotel, Invergowrie, Dundee; Glasgow Hotel,
Paisley Road West, Glasgow; Hilltop Hotel, Carlisle, Cumbria; George Hotel,
Chollerford, Northumberland; Three Tuns Hotel, New Elvet, Durham City; St George
Hotel, Harrogate, North Yorkshire; Belstead Brook Hotel, Ipswich, Suffolk;
Imperial Hotel, Newcastle upon Tyne; Gateshead Hotel , Gateshead; Churchgate
Hotel, Old Harlow, Essex; Preston Hotel, Samlesbury, Preston; Eden Arms Hotel,
Rushyford, County Durham; and Stockton Hotel, Stockton-on-Tees, Cleveland
