Kidsons partner honoured with MBE

HLB Kidsons' head of charities and education group, James Aston, has been awarded an MBE in the Queen's New Year Honours list for 'services to education'.

Aston was one of the members of the North East London Education Association, which took over Hackney Downs School in 1995 and a member of the Hackney LEA Improvement Team in 1997.

He has also been involved in leading a pilot study for the Further Education Funding Council aimed at establishing the new audit framework for the student records audit and was lead partner on the forensic investigation in 2000 into Barnsley College.

‘I am absolutely delighted by the honour. Over the last ten years I have had the privilege to meet and indeed work with some of the leading educationalists in the UK,’ he said.
