Baker & McKenzie Moscow has poached a 22-strong legal team and partners from PwC
Baker
& Mckenzie Moscow has raided the legal arm of
PricewaterhouseCoopers
(PwC) to build a team of 22 including three partners.
The three partners are real estate lawyers Konstantine Kouzine and Maxim
Kuznechenkov and corporate partner Igor Makarov, who bring with them 19
fee-earners from PwC’s Moscow office, The Lawyer.com reports.
The poaching of PwC’s legal staff follows the big four firm’s winning leave
to appeal a ruling of a lower Russian court which found the auditor was an
active participant in tax evasion at the now bankrupt Yukos oil giant.
Bakers’ Russian practice now has 26 partners in Moscow and St Petersburg.
