Revenue's tax back scheme.
The Inland Revenue has launched a campaign to encourage schoolchildren, pensioners and other people on low incomes to claim back tax that may have been deducted from interest earned on their savings. Between 30 October and 3 November Revenue staff will be visiting shopping centres, libraries, community centres, and other public places, as well as schools, and homes for elderly people. Paymaster general Dawn Primarolo said: ‘This is a major customer service initiative. It will help to make sure people do not pay more tax than they need to.’
