Internet salaries have surged by an average of 50% over the last six months, with UK executives earning twice as much as their European counterparts. UK internet salaries are now in line with the US, as prospective dotcom candidates shy away from share options. This has forced internet companies to revisit their executive remuneration packages, according to ePay Europe, a bi-annual research study from Futurestep and SCA Consulting.
The government has said its delayed secure transactions gateway will now be integrated into its UK online web portal from mid-March. Available via the UK online portal and appropriate departmental websites, the first services will cover VAT returns from HM Customs & Excise, agricultural aid applications from the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food and PAYE year-end tax returns from the Inland Revenue.
